Questing Tools

My old RPG dice brand, rebuilt from a closed Shopify store into a static showcase for the last four Town of Click Clack resin dice sets.

Questing Tools

Questing Tools was the Shopify store I ran selling tabletop RPG dice, tees and accessories. We designed our own dice, with a custom numeral font, our own molds and the QT mark on every D20, and took them to Kickstarter as the Town of Click Clack, a village of dice where each set is a character with a story. Backers funded it on April 19, 2022.

After the online store closed, four of the Click Clack sets were left: the Mysterious Stranger, the Shadow Clan, the Caster's Coven and the Widow's Wraith. Rather than reopen a store, I put questingtools.com back up as a showcase that sells nothing. Each set has its own page with a gallery, its lore and specs, and every buy button points to the local game store that will stock them.

The rebuild keeps the search history the old store had earned. The domain is the same, every old Shopify product and collection URL redirects to the closest new page, the original customer reviews are back on the dice pages, and the old Quest Board blog posts on D&D, dice care and dice making are republished.

The site is a fully static Next.js 16 App Router build on Vercel in TypeScript and Tailwind, with no backend, cart or CMS. Store details live in one config file, so pointing every buy button at a different shop is a one-line change, and outbound clicks are tracked per dice set.

Collaboration Details

The brand, dice designs and original store are Stuart's. The rebuild was planned in written docs (PRD, sitemap, SEO redirect map) and implemented with Claude Code, with Stuart reviewing each phase.
